Awareness! The Headphone App App Reviews

This is a must have if you both listen to music and need to hear announcements at work, a coworker walking up to talk, etc. It has enough flexibility to allow you to fine tune it to meet any noisey environment.

This is a great app that works extremely well. I would love it if you would add a feature where you could select to not hear sound above a certain decibel. So for example, I could take my phone and noise canceling headphones to the firing range, and have them provide hearing protection while still being able to hear a spoken voice.

Works great in an airport. You can still hear flight info while listening to music. If you pause the music, you can hear better than without.

... Wish the instructions ( and yes, I watched the video) were a little more fleshed out, but once I tinkered around a bit, I found this a great match with my Comply earbud tips. That much noise isolation isnt always a good thing!

Wow I have no idea how I got this app!! So i am just like wow what is this! So I clicked on it and wow!!! I love it!! Now I dont have to worry about checking Every 5 minutes to see if my mom is calling me while I am listening to my music or playing my games!!!

When I first had the app it worked great now after a number of weeks the app is cutting in and out and that is so annoying when I am running and biking. Also I email the service email address explaining my issue and my email was not answered :-(. Please fix issues and it will be a great app

Its a good idea and can work for me sometimes. But I wish there was a separate volume for the mic and your music...my music is too loud for the mic so I can barely hear the environment or people around me. I have to lower my music almost all the way down and turn up the mic amount just to hear people. I would really like that option to raise your music volume or lower it without it affecting how loud the mic sound is. So I can lower my music but still hear the mic volume how it was. Please look into it!

I use this app daily. And love it. Could use some improvements and I have emailed them about it and responded promptly that they were working on it!

Assuming youre going to be using this for running or cycling or some other sporting activity makes sense. But so does using a bluetooth headset/earbuds during those activities. Awareness! does what it says itll do but not if you have bluetooth. Either I missed that fact or it wasnt mentioned when I bought it. Blech! Even worse, if Awareness! is running it blocks all audio to the bluetooth audio device so you hear nothing at all. Ill surely rate them 5 stars should they decide to support bluetooth in the future, but for now 2.5 stars is generous given that its a $7 app I cant run.

Works as advertised, wish mic would activate when music is paused. Overall happy with performance.

Simply this did not work. not sure how anyone might have give this more then 1 star??? I suspect you could find 40 or 50 friends or employees to pump up the score.

Ok Ive tried this repeatedly at work & I can hear myself breathing with it (it cuts out sound) but when someone comes up to my desk talking in normal tone it doesnt detect them at all. So far its more irritating than helpful.

its a very great App...so cool.....until I upgrade to iOS 6.... :((

I have been using this program for quite some time now and have been very happy with it. However, since the upgrade to iOS 6 I have been unable to use it as Im now getting a very peculiar buzzing noise through my headphones. Ive tried quitting the program, re-installing it, and the problem persists. I feel that given some of the music playing app upgrades that took place with iOS 6 it might be necessary to see the Awareness! app also go through an upgrade.

No mic on iPhone 5

I didnt realize how much I depended on this app until I installed iOS 6 and it stopped working. I particularly like the ability to tweak the settings, so I can use it walking down a busy street or while waiting in a much quieter doctors office and be able to enjoy my music.

Now that the app has been updated to work properly with IOS 6.0, Im happy to say its functioning beautifully again. As promised, my rating has returned to the previous 5 star rating. This app is fantastic for anyone who wants to completely immerse themselves in their audio enjoyment while still being aware of things going on around them. Thanks
